This is the land of Lancashire cheese, black pudding and Goosnargh duck, and when you want to taste how the experts cook them, head to local Michelin-starred chef Nigel Haworth's restaurants and pubs, where menus are based on the talents of local producers - including Northcote Manor and The Three Fishes.

Clitheroe is the spiritual home of the great British Sausage and hosts the world famous Cowmans Butchers and Sausage Shop with over 100 sausages to enjoy!

Clitheroe has been nominated as the official Food Town of Lancashire and to kick start a series of high profile events celebrating this achievement a Fine Food & Craft Street Market is planned as part of the 5th Pennine Lancashire Festival of Food & Culture – which runs from 8th August to 16th September.

The Clitheroe Fine Food & Craft Street Market is a high profile & integral part of this festival and series of events to be hosted across Lancashire & the Ribble Valley.

Ribble Valley is widely recognised as the food capital of Great Britain and the Clitheroe Fine Food and Crafts Street Market aims to showcase the best local food heroes, food ambassadors and best local producers.

The charming market town of Clitheroe is lined with intriguing shops and boutiques, many of which have been run by the same families for generations.

This year a traditional street market will return to officially mark Clitheroe as Lancashire’s Food Town and will be filled with the very best Ribble Valley producers providing locally grown & produced artisan food & drink treats, unique bespoke arts & crafts, unusual gifts and a superb choice of fresh foods and home baking, hot hog roasts, sizzling sausages, delicious cheeses, jams and preserves, meats, organic fruit and vegetables, home grown honey and a wonderful array of tempting treats for all the family to indulge and enjoy!
